Swimsuits

You will be responsible for purchasing your team swimsuit from Kiefer Aquatics (formerly All American Swim). The 2026 team swimsuit is the Speedo Petal Polygon. You can schedule an appointment to try on swimsuits or call to get information about sizes. You may order over the phone or at the store.

Kiefer Aquatics is located at 1231 NW Maynard Road, Cary, NC. Their phone number is (919) 439-8678. Store Hours are Monday - Thursday 10-6, Saturday 10-3. There may be additional hours in April, May, and June.

The girls' swimsuits are $48 and the boys' swimsuits are $40.50. These suits will be good for at least 2 years.

Why Our Swim Team Chose a Two-Year Suit Pattern

This season, the swim team decided to move to a two-year swimsuit pattern instead of a new suit every year. There are several reasons for this change. First, it helps reduce costs for families, since swimmers can use the same team suit for two seasons instead of needing to purchase a new one each year. Second, it allows swimmers to build team identity and recognition, as the same design becomes familiar at meets and around the community.

With proper care, a quality swim suit can easily last through multiple seasons. Here are a few tips to help your swimmer’s suit stay in good condition:

Swimsuit Care Tips

  • Rinse immediately after swimming in cool water to remove chlorine and pool chemicals.
  • Hand wash with mild soap if needed—avoid strong detergents.
  • Air dry only. Do not use a dryer, as heat breaks down the fabric and elasticity.
  • Avoid wringing or twisting the suit; gently press out excess water instead.
  • Rotate suits if possible. If your swimmer practices frequently, having a second practice suit can help the team suit last longer.
  • Keep suits away from rough surfaces like concrete pool decks that can snag the fabric.

By taking good care of the team suit, swimmers should be able to comfortably wear it for both seasons while still looking great on deck and in the water.

What To Expect

  • Throughout the season, swimmers will improve upon the four swim strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
  • Swimmers will participate in individual races and relays.
  • Swimmers in the 6&U Age Group will only compete in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke.
  • Learn more about practices and review the practice schedule.
  • Learn more about meets and review the meet schedule.
  • The season cannot happen without volunteers. Every family is expected to volunteer at least five (5) times, preferably across different meets. If your family cannot commit to volunteering, please let us know so that we can help you find other ways to contribute. There are several volunteer coordinator positions and behind-the-scenes roles that we must fill every season. Volunteer coordinators are exempt from volunteering at meets. Learn more about volunteering.
  • Exciting coach and parent relays at every meet!
  • End-of-season team party!!

Who Can Participate?

  • The Swim Team is for Brighton Forest residents only.
  • Swimmers must be between 4-18 years old on June 1st. Your swimmer's age group is determined by their age on June 1st. For example, a swimmer who turns 11 on or before June 1st will be in the 11-12 Age Group, while a swimmer who turns 11 on or after June 2nd will be in the 9-10 Age Group.
  • The Swim Team is not a substitute for swimming lessons. The practices are geared toward improving swim strokes and training to compete against other teams. The kids will have a more enjoyable experience if they can meet the following minimum requirements before the first practice.
    • Swimmers should have a general ability to swim and stay afloat without fear of jumping in the water.
    • Swimmers in the 6&U Age Group will be expected to swim 15 yards unassisted. This is roughly 3/4 of the length of the pool or from the entrance end of the pool to the lifeguard chairs on the far end.
    • Swimmers in the 7-8 and 9-10 Age Groups will be expected to swim 25 yards. This is one length of the pool.
    • Swimmers in the 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18 Age Groups will be expected to swim 50 yards. This is two lengths of the pool.
  • Our coaches and several local swim clubs can help if you are looking for lessons or a pre-season tune-up.
